Community Services in Halal Industry with University of the Philippines Los Banos

On Wednesday, 8 November 2023, delegations of UIN Imam Bonjol Padang: Drs. Mardius, M.M., Aryanaldi, SE., and Trinitaria Marlis Putri, M.M, alongside with the Head of Research Division School of Environmental Sciences and Management (SESAM) UPLB, Dr. Yusuf A. Sucol and his research assistant Joshua Hwang – went to some strategic areas in Los Banos, Philippines: resort and restaurant.

These activities were identified as an community services act where it was aimed to share awareness about halal industry to the business owners/business managers/ and or the workers. Halal market has been a worldwide-recognized, even among non-muslim countries, such as: UK, Australia, Thailand, and Singapore. These countries has paid some more attention to the importance of halal and understand what it really was. It is believed that paying attention to the halal industry will help the local business rising.

The local industry should expand their market into muslim travellers which needs: halal food, halal tourism, and halal services. To be hopefully, Philippines will be one of non-OIC who is greatly developed on to the halal industry topic.
